The earth is warming and as the daffodils and crocuses shoot up through the garden, Anthology brings new thought and growth to your personal life through a variety of events. In April, join us on the 9th as we welcome Lorraine Bosse’-Smith, professional fitness expert and speaker, who will share with you highlights from the book 201 Secrets to Healthy Living. According to Bossé-Smith, 201 Secrets to Healthy Living is a treasure of life-saving health secrets from 27 health-care experts, providing keys to a happy, healthy and long life. “It’s really a reference guide to great health,” says Bossé-Smith, “all with easy-to-access information to help people live in health and wellness.” This event will take place at 4:30 PM on Friday April 9th at Anthology and is free.
Mary Waters, certified Hakomi and Therapeutic Massage therapist will explain the benefits of Hakomi Therapy, April 22 at 10 AM in the bookstore. Hakomi is a mindful, body-centered approach to traditional psychotherapy. You will be given the opportunity to try this approach under Mary’s guided therapy in an experiential presentation.
Dr. James Law, noted Lincoln scholar, will discuss and sign copies of his book Lee Went on 4th and 2 & Didn’t Make It! a summation of the history of the Civil War. Using a creative sports analogy, Law recounts the battles and outcomes of the Civil War in a way that is not only accurate, but interesting and entertaining. His book is available for purchase at Anthology. Join us April 24 Saturday at 10:30 AM for this enlightened discussion.
Later that same day, local poet April Stutters will read from her self-published book Shhh…No One Knows This on April 24 at 4 PM. Join us as April celebrates National Poetry Month by reading from her collection of poems that depict her life experiences.
May and June have author events lined up as well; more information on those as the days draw nearer. Until then, we appreciate your support of local authors, poets and practitioners and hope you will look to Anthology to bring you a variety of events to help entertain, sustain and enhance your life.
